CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities in Catawba County are investigating after they said a worker was burned in an industrial accident early Wednesday morning.
Emergency crews were called around 8 a.m. to Carolina Specialty Fabrics on North Caldwell Avenue in Newton.
Officials told Channel 9 that the worker suffered burns to more than 30 percent of his body when dye for fabric at the factory boiled over onto him.

It was not immediately clear how badly the worker was burned, but authorities told Channel 9 that he was conscious and speaking to paramedics.
