WATCH: Armed robbers hit McDonald's; likely connected to other crimes

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Union County deputies are searching for two men who robbed a McDonald’s restaurant in Wesley Chapel Tuesday morning.

Investigators tell Channel 9 one of the two masked men used a bar to bust the glass on the door to get inside the restaurant.

Surveillance video obtained by Channel 9 shows the other suspect holding a dark colored semi-automatic handgun. Investigators say the suspect with the gun ordered the manager to open the safe.

The suspects arrived around 4 a.m. Tuesday in a red Dodge Ram pickup truck with the tailgate down.

Deputies believe the two masked men are the same suspects who robbed a McDonald’s in Monroe over the weekend and a McDonald’s in Wingate in September of 2017.
