CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The impact of Tropical Storm Hermine could be felt Friday at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, where dozens of flights were delayed and security lines were growing.
TSA is warning passengers to arrive at least two hours early and travelers told Channel 9 it’s been chaotic all morning.
Some travelers felt the stress of flight delays as early as Thursday.
By 9 a.m. Friday, at least 16 flights were canceled and nearly two dozen were delayed.
According to “Airlines for America,” Friday is expected to be the busiest travel day for the holiday weekend.

Inside the terminal, Channel 9 could see long lines for all airlines, and airport officials said long term parking lots one and two were already full.
One woman Channel 9 spoke to said she's heading out west, hoping her trip won't see many delays.
“We prepared long ago, we’ll be gone for three weeks,” said Marilyn Erbin.
The airport suggests travelers check the status of their flight, no matter where their headed.
Most cancelations have been to Florida and Georgia.
Channel 9 checked, and as of noon, most flights in and out of Charlotte were on schedule, but airlines have waived fees if you need to change your flight because of Tropical Storm Hermine.
