CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Emergency crews had to temporarily close the northbound ramp from Interstate 85 to northbound Interstate 77 throughout the morning Thursday after a tractor-trailer crashed and overturned.
The big rig wrecked around 6 a.m. and flipped off the side of the ramp.
No hazards or leaks were reported but it took hours to upright the trailer and tow it away.
Officials said two people in the cab were taken to the hospital but would be OK. Troopers told Channel 9 that they charged the driver with exceeding a safe speed.
The tractor-trailer was hauling plastic pellets.
