CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said three suspects carjacked a man overnight in west Charlotte before flipping that vehicle while trying to get away.
Channel 9 arrived on the scene shortly after the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on Crestmere Street and Triangle Drive.
Officers said the crime started a block away from the crash scene, on Freedom Drive.
A man told Channel 9 he was leaving the American Laundromat when the three suspects confronted him at gunpoint and stole his new Buick SUV.

Investigators said the suspects then crashed into a light pole, flipping the car.
All three were taken to the hospital. No names have been released.
