Statesville area targeted for 1,000-plus homes

STATESVILLE, N.C. — Statesville City Council is considering two requests that each seek to rezone over 200 acres for residential development.

Bayard Development and Prestige Corporate Development are each trying to rezone sites to allow for hundreds of new homes, city documents show. If both projects move forward, they could bring more than 1,000 new homes to Statesville.
