Stabbing, 3 people shot highlight night of violence across Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were busy overnight investigating three separate cases of violence.

First, officers were called to a stabbing on Margaret Wallace Road in southeast Charlotte just before midnight.

Police told Channel 9 that the victim was stabbed in the stomach and that his roommate was taken in for questioning, but it's not yet known if he's been charged.

There was no word on the severity of the victim’s injuries.

About two hours later, officers said two people were shot in the Steele Creek area, on Softwind Drive near Arrowood Road.

Channel 9 was there as investigators took pictures of what looked like bullet shell casings on the ground, and a large area was taped off.

Police said someone dropped off two men at Carolinas Place Pineville and that both had been shot.

Officials said one of the men was critically wounded and transferred to CMC-Main in Charlotte.

Police haven't arrested anyone or said what led to the shooting.

Then, around 1:45 a.m., police in Mount Holly advised CMPD that a 17-year-old was taken to the hospital by a good Samaritan after being shot in the arm in north Charlotte.

The teen told police he was shot on North Pine Street, near North Tryon Street, by an unknown person for an unknown reason.

No arrests have been made in that case either.
