LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Officials put Lincolnton High School on lockdown Tuesday after they were alerted to a threat on the social media app Snapchat that said there would be a shooting at the school.
The message threatened a shooting at 2:30 p.m.
School officials said doors and windows were locked while school resource officers and local police investigated.
Lincolnton police said they investigated the matter and arrested a suspect in the case.
Lincoln County school officials said class would return to a normal schedule Wednesday with additional police on campus for the rest of the week as a precautionary measure.
