ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A Rowan County family was displaced Wednesday night when a fire destroyed their home.
Officials with the Bostian Heights Fire Department said they received a call for the fire around 5:40 p.m. and that firefighters from several department responded to the house on Hope Lane.
Fire officials said the house was fully engulfed when they arrived.
Firefighters struggled to get water to the home because tankers had to travel 4 miles to get to the nearest fire hydrant, officials said.
Officials said everyone in the home made it out safely and they are now being helped by the Red Cross.
