PINEVILLE, N.C. — A run and walk was held Saturday in memory of a Pineville volunteer firefighter who died in the line of duty.
Richard Sheltra died April 30 while battling a 3-alarm fire at a Pineville shopping center.

Runners gathered at Belle Johnston Community Center for a 5K in his memory.
The money raised by the run will benefit the Richard Sheltra Memorial Fund, which is used to pay for gear and educational opportunities for first responders.
