Man in custody after argument leads to gun being found at Concord Mills

Police said a man is in custody after an argument led to a gun being found Wednesday evening at Concord Mills.

Concord police posted on Twitter around 4:40 p.m. that officers were investigating reports of gunfire at the mall on Concord Mills Boulevard.

According to police, two men got into an argument near an entrance to the mall and one of the men had a gun. Both men and others nearby ran from the area. The man with the gun is in custody.

Police said they can’t confirm if shots were fired, but that they are reviewing surveillance video and continuing to interview witnesses.

Police said there is no threat to the public and no one was hurt.

The mall is open and operating normally.
