CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a homicide in northwest Charlotte after they said a man was shot and killed.
Officers were called around 2:45 a.m. Thursday to the 4400 block of Eddleman Street, near I-85 and Freedom Drive.
The victim has not been identified. Police have not made any arrests.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit are canvassing the area to determine if there were any witnesses to the shooting.
Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit detective. Detective Koll is the lead detective assigned to the case. The public can also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
