Police investigating after man's body found in woods near I-40

HICKORY, N.C. — Police in Hickory are investigating after body was found Tuesday morning in the woods off Interstate 40, near the exit 125 ramp.

The body of a white male was found about 100 yards deep inside the foliage.

No foul play is suspected, according to Hickory Police Sgt. Jeff Medley, but circumstances surrounding the man’s death are still under investigation.

The man’s identity has not been released.
