KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Police announced Thursday morning that they have made an arrest in the murder of an elderly Kannapolis man.
Kannapolis police arrested David Myron Dover, 53, and charged him with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and driving with a revoked license Wednesday.
Police were called to a home on Chris Ann Lane around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday after 79-year-old Arthur Lee "Buddy" Davis was found dead inside.
“I was stunned I was shocked, because Dave was a nice guy. He never lost his temper,” friend Marie Boblitz said.
Neighbors told Channel 9 reporter Elsa Gillis that it is normally a quiet neighborhood.
“I mean, if somebody busted up in his house and killed him what could they do to everybody else? It makes me scared,” said neighbor Lagina Hall.
