Police: Arrest made in Shelby shooting

SHELBY, N.C. — Police arrested a man Thursday accused in a shooting in Shelby Monday night.

The Shelby Police Department arrested Brundon Torray Moore, 34, at his residence on warrants related to the shooting. He was also charged with an additional charge of possession of firearm by a felon. He was placed in the Cleveland County Detention Center under a $250,000 secure bond.

The Shelby Police Department is requesting the community’s assistance in locating the second suspect, Gregory Davis, 30.  Anyone with information pertaining to this shooting or as to the location of Gregory Davis can call Crime Stoppers at 704-481-8477. On Monday at 9:05 p.m. police received a call regarding shots being fired in the area of the Southern Convenience Store at 400 W. Dixon Blvd.  As officers arrived in the area they were informed of two black males seen leaving the area in a gold color Chevrolet Blazer.

Officers were able to identify the victim by reviewing video surveillance from the convenience store. The victim, Jody Curtis Locket of Shelby, later arrived at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. Lockett was treated and released as a result of having been shot in the right arm.

Officers were also able to identify the gold Chevrolet Blazer as well as the shooting suspects, Moore and Davis, both from Shelby.  After further investigation, warrants were secured on both Brundon Torray Moore and Gregory Davis for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and possession of firearm by a felon.
