CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a 16-year-old was shot outside of an east Charlotte club.
Investigators said the teenager was shot in the hip at Club Babylon on North Sharon Amity Road, but the victim wasn’t found there. The victim’s friends drove him Saturday morning to South Boulevard, where they found a Charlotte fire truck responding to another unrelated call and they stopped so he could receive medical treatment, according to police.
The victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center and is expected to be OK.
An investigation revealed that the victim got into a verbal argument with someone inside the club. Investigators said when everyone left the club the argument escalated and the victim was shot.
Police have not made any arrests in the case.
