CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A homeowner started shooting when someone tried to break into their south Charlotte home, police said.
The break-in happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday on Osprey Drive near Park and Pineville-Matthews roads, officials said.
Police said there may have been more than one person trying to break in and that the people involved knew each other.
Paramedics took a person with life-threatening injuries to the hospital. It was not clear if the injured person was the intruder.
Officials said another scene on Nightingale Lane could be connected to the shooting.
