CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Firefighters were busy Sunday morning trying to get a house fire under control in north Charlotte.
Crews were called to the home on Spanish Moss Lane, just off Mallard Creek Road, around 11 a.m. and saw heavy fire coming from the roof and attic area.

The fire chief told Channel 9 that nobody was hurt and that the family was out of town. They did have a house-sitter but that person was not at the home when the fire started.
The chief said that two dogs died in the fire.
Fire investigators are still working to determine how the fire started.
