IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A car hauler caught fire in Iredell County Wednesday morning, shutting down Interstate 40 for two hours in one direction.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over Interstate 40 west, near Old Mocksville Road.

The flames appeared to have burned through several cars on the back of the trailer. Traffic was backed up for miles behind the truck.
Iredell County dispatchers told Channel 9 the fire started at about 9 a.m. and no one was hurt in the blaze. The lanes reopened at about 11 a.m.
Channel 9 has reached out to Highway Patrol to find out how the fire started.
