CHEROKEE COUNTY, N.C. — A North Carolina bus driver has been suspended after investigators said he drove a school bus while drunk.
Authorities said seven students were on board the Cherokee County bus while Harold Herbst was behind the wheel.
Troopers responded after the bus became stuck at an intersection and said Herbst had slow reaction times and failed a sobriety test.

School leaders are grateful no one was hurt and the district suspended Herbst without pay.
School leaders are also reviewing procedures, from surprise drug testing to regular assessments, in order to make sure this never happens again.
