HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — At least 13 cars were involved in a crash Wednesday morning that blocked a portion of Interstate 77 near Huntersville as wet weather swept through the area.
The wreck happened just after 10:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-77 at the Mount Holly Huntersville Road Bridge, between Interstate 485 and Gilead Road.

Officials initially told Traffic Team 9′s Mark Taylor that all the general-purpose lanes on I-77 northbound were closed, but our crew on scene said only the far right lane is was closed around 11:20 a.m.
Authorities have not said what caused the crash or how many other cars may have been involved, but it caused delays on both sides of the interstate.
So far, no injuries have been reported. It’s unknown if anyone will face charges relating to the wreck.
All lanes were reopened around noon.
