CORNELIUS, N.C. — A man attending a birthday celebration drowned in Lake Norman in Cornelius on Thursday evening, according to a North Carolina Wildlife officials.
Emergency crews were called to an area on the lake near Island Forest Drive, where a body was recovered. The victim was identified as 32-year-old Jonathan Keaton.
Authorities said Keaton, who was at a 21st birthday party, fell off a jet ski and his life jacket came off underwater. Officials said he never resurfaced.
This is an ongoing investigation.
