CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officials said two students were hurt in a crash involving a school bus early Wednesday morning in north Charlotte.

Police responded around 7 a.m. to the wreck on David Cox Road and officials confirmed it was a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools bus that was involved in the crash.

MEDIC said they took two patients to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police told Channel 9 that two students were taken to the hospital as a precaution and that they would be OK, though CMS officials said nobody on the bus -- which was headed to Coulwood STEM Academy with five people on board -- was hurt.

Police on the scene said it appeared the vehicle rear-ended the school bus.
