GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Gaston County woman and a Charlotte man have been arrested and charged with robbing and kidnapping, The Gaston Gazette reported.
Julia Haney, 30, and Andrew McGinnis, 28, are accused of robbing Jaymeen Rajendrakumar Shah at gunpoint and breaking into his car early Friday morning.
Police said the pair took cash, clothing and used Shah's credit card to buy more than $600 worth of items at Walmart.
McGinnis faces an additional charge of possession of a firearm by a felon.
McGinnis was convicted in January 2015 of having a controlled substance in a prison in Cleveland County Superior Court, The Gaston Gazette said.
Haney is being held at the Gaston County Jail under a $400,000 bond. McGinnis was given a $500,000 bond.
