GASTONIA, N.C. — A robbery victim told Channel 9 Wednesday night that her daughter saved her life.
An armed man put a gun to the clerk’s head at the Gastonia Kwik Stop on Garrison Boulevard.
“He said he wanted what was in the drawer,” Verdina Scott said.
She said he aimed the firearm at her face.

“He said, ‘If you say anything, I will kill you,’” Scott said.
She opened the crash drawer and could only think of her 12-year-old daughter outside on her cellphone.
“I said, ‘Please don't hurt my daughter,’” Scott said.
The man took the cash, walked across the street, got in a car, and drove away, police said.
The armed robber only got away with $60 and Scott is thankful her daughter was not harmed.
