ALBEMARLE, N.C. — Authorities are investigating a homicide in Stanly County after a man was found shot to death, according to the Albemarle chief of police.
Officers were called Tuesday around 7:40 p.m. to a home on Reid Street and found the victim, 31-year-old Quanterius Watkins, dead from a gunshot wound.
"He was a God-fearing man,” said Antonio Pemberton, Watkins’ uncle. “He just gave his life to Christ. If anybody asked of him to do something he would do it."

No arrests have been made and anyone with information about this case is urged to call police at 704-984-9500.
"It would bring us a lot of peace to know exactly who done it, why did it happen,” Pemberton said.
Police said they haven’t investigated many crimes in the neighborhood and they have no reason to suggest the motive of the murder.
Watkins worked for Corning in Cabarrus County and coached youth football.
"That was his heart so he teach Albemarle youth and he loved the kids,” Pemberton said. “He loved dealing with them cause his own son played football."
