HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — A Huntersville police officer was hurt after a patrol car was hit while responding to a crash on I-77 early Tuesday morning.
It happened around 6 a.m. in the northbound general purpose lanes of I-77, past I-485 near the Hambright Road bridge.

Officials said Huntersville police were working a crash on I-77 when a patrol car was hit from behind. An officer was taken to the hospital, but they are expected to be OK.
Authorities have not said what led up to the collision or if anyone will face charges.
