CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Hornets donated 500 turkeys to the community Wednesday to help make sure families have food on the table this Thanksgiving.
The Hornets partnered with Food Lion to donate the turkeys to the annual Street Turkeys Food Drive.
“It's great to know we have partners that want to give back and make sure Thanksgiving is a special day in our community,” said Hornets’ President and C.O.O. Fred Whitfield.
Wednesday’s event was just one of several happening in Charlotte this week to make sure families have food on the table for the holiday.
