CHARLOTET, N.C. — Fire officials told Channel 9 that a homeowner suffered minor burns after a fire started in his garage and spread to the attic of his home in southeast Charlotte Sunday afternoon.
Just before noon, firefighters were called to the home on Sardis Road North. It marked the third working structure fire that the department had to respond to Sunday morning.

Officials said the fire began in the garage before spreading to the side of the house and into the attic.

The owner of the home suffered minor burns to his hands and face, officials told Channel 9.
Investigators are still working to determine how exactly the fire started.
