LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — Troopers are looking for a driver they said hit and killed a bicyclist in Lancaster County late Friday night before driving off.
The collision happened around 10:15 p.m. on Pageland Highway, near Deerwood Road.
Troopers told Channel 9 that the driver hit the bicyclist from behind, then took off.
The bicyclist, 42-year-old Richard Sims of Lancaster, was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.
Family members told Channel 9 that Sims was biking to a store up the road when he was hit.
Police believe the car involved is a 2014 white Nissan Maxima or Altima.
