Troopers told Channel 9 that a red Chevrolet Blazer crossed the center line and struck a green Ford Fusion head-on.
Three people were taken to the hospital, including both drivers, who suffered serious injuries. A passenger in the Fusion was hurt but will be OK, troopers said.
Wet weather at the time may have played a role in the crash, officials said.
The road was closed for hours while troopers investigated the crash.
