GASTONIA, N.C. — A homicide investigation is underway after a woman's body was found in the bathroom of a home in the 1200 block of West 10th Avenue in Gastonia Thursday.
Police identified the woman as 38-year-old Amoritta Costner, and said she most likely died early Thursday morning.
Eduardo Rojas was charged Friday in connection to the stabbing death of Costner.
Officers told Channel 9 that Costner was a mother of two.
Police told Channel 9 that the owner of the property went to the home and discovered the body.

The house is the same address where police said Robert Stauss shot Rojas last month. Stauss was charged with aggravated assault and attempted first-degree murder.
Police said it’s too early to say if there is a connection.
No further information has been released and the investigation is ongoing.
