CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A family escaped a fire that destroyed two cars and damaged a house early Tuesday morning in Myers Park.
The fire started around midnight in the 1600 block of Sterling Road.
When firefighters arrived, they said they found heavy fire coming from the garage. Charlotte Fire called a second alarm to bring in more firefighters.
It took firefighters about 30 minutes to put the fire out.
No one was injured, and The Red Cross is helping the family.
Fire investigators have not determined how the fire started, but they said they believe it started in or around the garage.
