CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is trying to figure out what caused a car to veer head-on into another vehicle, killing both drivers Wednesday night in Chester County.
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. on U.S. 21, about two miles north of Fort Lawn.
Troopers said the driver of a Kia, 28-year-old Khyleta Woods, crossed the center line and struck a PT Cruiser that was traveling north on U.S. 21.
Woods was rushed to the hospital where she later died, while the driver of the PT Cruiser, 48-year-old Jennifer Zills, died at the scene.
