STATESVILLE, N.C. — Police were investigating a deadly head-on crash involving two pickup trucks early Wednesday morning in Statesville.
First responders were on the scene of the wreck just after 6 a.m. on Garner Bagnal Boulevard at Wall Street, near Interstate 77.

Paramedics also rushed another person to the hospital but it was unclear how badly they were hurt.
Officials have not released the name of the person who died.
The road was blocked while police investigated but reopened around 8 a.m.
