CONCORD, N.C. — Rick Morrison said not a day goes by that his heart doesn't ache for his beloved daughter, Crystal Morrison.

The young mother disappeared without a trace nearly one year ago after leaving her job in Concord.

"To be honest with you, if I didn't have my faith, I'd probably be nuts," Rick Morrison said.

According to family members, Crystal Morrison wasn't feeling well one year ago back on Aug. 23, she informed her managers that she would be leaving for the day

She called for a ride, and then began walking here along International Drive toward the McDonald's to get a drink. She never made it there.

"I can't tell you what all the law enforcement has done," Rick Morrison said. "They stopped and interviewed cars for two hours around that time zone and the bottom line is nobody saw anything which makes no sense."

Concord police investigators searched for weeks. Family members even offered a cash reward, but still, no information about what happened to Crystal Morrison.

One year since her disappearance, a community is preparing to unite in her honor. They're hoping someone out there remembers something that could help bring her home.

"Every missing person, doesn't matter if it's a child, an adult, whatever, it's somebody's child and that's what people forget," Rick Morrison said.

The family will hold a 24-hour prayer vigil in Crystal Morrison's honor. It starts at noon Friday at St. Anne's Church in Rock Hill. The public is invited.
