SHELBY, N.C. — State troopers said one person died after a crash in Shelby Tuesday evening.
Investigators told Channel 9 that the driver, Montavas Lawton, of Lawndale, lost control on Sanders Road and flipped his car several time.
Witnesses told investigators he'd been racing another car and was traveling about 80 mph.
The other driver wasn't hurt and troopers said they do not expect to file charges.
