UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A deputy responding to a call about a breaking and entering, was injured in a weather-related crash Friday afternoon in Mineral Springs.
The Union County deputy was the only one injured in the crash off Potter Road, Highway Patrol said.
He lost control and overcorrected when someone pulled in front of him.

He was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
The crash caused extensive damage to the front porch of a house and the lawn.
New Town Elementary was on lock down due to the breaking and entering in the area. Dismissal was delayed until officials gave the all clear.
