BLOWING ROCK, N.C. — Crews were working to repair a water main break Saturday morning in downtown Blowing Rock.
Channel 9 reporter Ken Lemon went to the scene and was told that the break was discovered around 8 p.m. Friday on Main Street while crews were out clearing roads.
Workers said it was caused by wintry conditions, which made the ground freeze and thaw.
Crews said they had repaired an 8-inch line and were filling in the hole that was created to repair the line.
Channel 9 crews observed that Main Street was drivable despite the break.
Crews said they planned to turn on some valves and restore water service by mid-morning.
Workers said they will continue clearing the roads.
