CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a man was shot at a northeast Charlotte motel overnight.
Officers were called to the Economy Inn on Tom Hunter Road around 2:30 a.m. after someone was shot behind the motel.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was rushed to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives are still trying to piece together what led to a shooting.

People working and staying at the motel told Channel 9 they did not hear anything.
Officers were speaking to employees, trying to learn more about what happened.
No suspect information has been released.
