LANCASTER, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating after they said a 7-year-old boy was hit and killed by a delivery truck in Lancaster County Monday night.
Troopers said that around 6:20 p.m. Nija Tinsley, Jr. was riding his electric scooter on his driveway on Morningside Drive, just south of Lancaster, when he drove into the road and was hit by the box truck driven by Jerrell Jackson.
The child was not wearing a helmet, according to troopers. He was rushed to Springs Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No charges have been filed and the collision is still under investigation.
