Cheerleading coach accused of sex crimes with 13-year-old girl

CONCORD, N.C. — The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office said they have arrested a cheerleading coach accused of sex crimes with children connected to the team.

Grant Taylor, 19, worked for Impact One North in Concord but is no longer employed there.

He was charged with two counts if first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

Channel 9 obtained new warrants that show his accuser was a 13-year-old at the cheer facility where he coached.

The documents allege that crimes started at the Concord cheer facility and suggest that the 13-year-old female accuser was stalked and then sexually abused by Taylor between March of last year and April of this year.

The accuser told police that Taylor began texting and reaching out to her on social media. She said he insisted he was her boyfriend and that they'd one day have kids.

The accuser said she became stressed and fearful that if she didn’t comply he would kill himself.

The documents said Taylor made the accuser send him nude photos and requested them at least 100 times.

Detectives said the case is still open and they want to know if there are other accusers, and that Taylor could face more charges.

Statement from Impact One:

"Grant Taylor was terminated by IMPACT1 for inappropriate communication with a minor. There is an ongoing police investigation that we are fully cooperating with."
