CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte has been named one of America's most affordable cities to live in.
The Queen City came in eighth, ahead of cities like Raleigh and Nashville that are similar in size.
The rankings were determined by various living costs, such as groceries, housing, gas, utilities, health care, and dining out.
Affordable housing in the Charlotte area was one of the main determining factors, and according to the Charlotte Chamber, this draws both companies and people to the city.
"Your paycheck goes further here than in most other large cities in the United States,” Chuck McShane with the Chamber said.
