CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A car fire caused a major traffic slowdown Monday morning near Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Traffic cameras captured images of the blaze shortly after 8 a.m. on the outer loop of Interstate 485 near Wilkinson Boulevard.
The right lane was blocked due to the incident, causing significant congestion along the highway.
Fire crews went to the scene and extinguished the flames, and traffic cameras showed the charred wreckage being cleared just before 9 a.m.
No injuries were reported and a cause of the fire has not been specified.
