LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Two men were killed and another was seriously hurt after a collision in Lincoln County Friday afternoon, troopers said.

The crash happened around 1:10 p.m. on Campground Road near Pine Ridge Drive.

Troopers said a truck was heading west on Campground Road when it crossed the center line and collided head-on with an SUV traveling eastbound.

The driver of the SUV, 73-year-old Boyce Moore, and passenger, 74-year-old Michael Spillars, died at the scene, officials said.

According to Moore’s family, the two men grew up together and were lifelong friends.
