MORGANTON, NC — The Burke County Sheriff's Office has charged a 17-year-old with making a "false report concerning mass violence on educational property."
Investigators said it happened at Patton High School Monday.
Mackenzie Rae Swink was arrested after the principal and school resource officer began investigating a report about a student making threats to "shoot up the school."
Swink was taken to the Burke-Catawba District Confinement Facility and held under a $50,000 bond.
