CMPD: 1 person shot, injured in connection with robbery in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person was seriously injured Monday morning in a shooting in Charlotte, near the city's Wilmore and South End neighborhoods.

Officials with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they responded to a deadly weapon call near the intersection of West Boulevard and South Tryon Street.

Medic said one person was taken to Carolinas Medical Center to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police at the scene said they were investigating a robbery and that the shooting happened outside.

The people involved did not know each other, authorities said.

No arrests have been made, officials said.
