CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Alcohol was a factor in a crash that killed one person Monday morning in northwest Charlotte, according to police.
Officers were called around 1:30 a.m. to Rozzelles Ferry Road near Toddville Road.
The driver of the Nissan Altima was on Toddville Road and didn't stop at the intersection when it was hit by a GMC Yukon, according to police.

The driver of the Altima, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Yukon, Alta Bost Sr., suffered minor injuries.
Police said speed does not appear to be a contributing factor, but they said alcohol use by the driver of the Altima appears to be a factor in the crash.
Investigators spent nearly three hours gathering evidence at the scene.
