1 person dead after hit by 2 vehicles in west Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — One person died after being hit by two vehicles last Saturday in west Charlotte, police said.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers said they responded to a pedestrian crash in the 3800 block of Billy Graham Parkway at the intersection of Morris Field Drive at about 3:46 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found a 2010 Dodge Charger that had struck a pedestrian, authorities said.

CMPD officials identified the victim as 57-year-old Milton Reid Moore on Wednesday.

According to officials, the driver of the Charger, Deon Inman, was traveling south on Billy Graham Parkway when Moore ran in front of his car.

Inman stopped immediately after striking Moore and called 911, officers said.

Shortly after the accident involving Inman, the driver of a Cadillac also ran over Moore on the parkway and swerved into the path of a Ford Fusion driven by Keith Hall.

Hall rear-ended the Cadillac and immediately stopped, authorities said, while the Cadillac drove off.

Officials said paramedics pronounced Moore dead at the scene.

Investigators said they are working to determine if alcohol or speed contributed to the crash.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Major Crash Investigations Unit are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the light-colored Cadillac.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact detectives at 704-432-2169.
