Delta Sigma Theta sorority hosts School Tools event, collecting supplies for families

FORT MILL, S.C. — The Charlotte chapter of Delta Sigma Theta sorority stepped up to provide school supplies for children in need.

In partnership with Channel 9, the sorority hosted a 9 School Tools Drive at the Heritage Grand Hotel in Fort Mill on Saturday.

They collected thousands of supplies that will be donated to families who can’t afford the supplies themselves.

“We are a public service organization, it’s in our DNA and we just love supporting our community, and this is a way we can support students, so they will be excited to get new products, new supplies for school and hopefully this will help them to learn,” said Katrina Young, president of the Charlotte Alumni chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

This marked the thirteenth year that the Charlotte chapter supported the 9 School Tools Drive.

If you wish to contribute through 9 School Tools, supplies can be dropped off at select Arby’s, Ashley stores, and all Charlotte fire stations until August 31.

Use the 9 School Tools Donation Location map to find your nearest drop-off location.
